WiMax

WIMAX stand for worldwide interoperability for microwave access.It is a wireless communication standard design to provide 30-40 Mbps data rates, after 2011 update providing up to 1 Gbps for fixed station.It refers to interoperable implementation of IEEE 802.16 family of wireless-networks standards ratified by the WiMax Forum. WiMax forum was founded in june,2001 to promote informity & interoperapibilty of the standards.The Forum describes WiMax is as "a standard based technology enabling the delivery of of last mile wireless broadband access as an alternative to cable and DSL.
